Where was The Donard School: The Movie (2014) filmed?

Filming took place in Los Angeles, California; Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from January to March 2014. Only interior scenes were built and filmed several soundstages in Hollywood Center Studios, Las Palmas Avenue.

Some scenes were shot in a three-story single-family house, located at 671 Lincoln Avenue, in Winnetka, Illinois. The kitchen in this movie was shot in the house, along with the main staircase, basement, and most of the first floor landing. The house's dining room, and all of the downstairs rooms (excluding the kitchen) were built on a soundstage. The house was built in 1921, and features five bedrooms, a fully converted attic, a detached double garage, and a greenhouse. "Kevin's tree house," in the backyard, was built specifically for this movie, and demolished after principal photography ended.

Movie Detail and Movie Trivia.

Before Sean Flem was cast, Alexander Skarsgård has auditioned for the role of Inspector Gadget in the threequel, but he turned it down in a favor of a non-Disney live-action film, The Legend of Tarzan (2016); despite their cartoon versions have similar to the same one as shown in "Photo Safari" episode and in the 1999 Disney animated film. In addition, Alan Tudyk, Bill Hader, Tom Holland, and Chris Pratt have been auditioned. Tarzan is also mentioned by Gadget throughout this scene. Later, a Tarzan action figure can be seen in the background, on the left at the top of a cabinet near Gadget's bedroom when he finds a few jobs to be prepared for his regular skills.

Detail Mistake and Trivia Mistake.

In the scene when Sanford Scolex brings RoboGadget to life, in a close-up shots of RoboGadget's head, the collar of a grey t-shirt can be seen, but in a few shots where we see his body, it is all machinery below his neck.

Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping

The cast is made up of mostly Australian actors due to being filmed in Brisbane. For the most part, their American accents are flawless, but there are a few times where they slip. One example being Claw's actor, Tony Martin, slipping back into his Aussie accent during the scene were Claw comments on, particularly the way he says "deep fried and burnt to a crisp".

Error Detail and Error Trivia.

When Jordan slips on the ice steps at the front door and drops his baseball bat on the ground so he doesn't pick it up, a baseball bat turns the left side of him in an overhead shot, then it is the right side in the next scene while he tries to get into the front door, and then it is the left side again in the wide shot of Jordan approaching the house.
