Filming Locations

The exterior of the McCallister residence was filmed in front of a house in the outskirts of Chicago. Because it was too small for filming inside and Chicago didn't have large movie studios, the interior was completely built inside an abandoned high school. The crew also set up their offices in there.

Film Trivias

Harry does not appear in Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House (2002) and was replaced by Marv's wife Vera. Harry is mentioned in the film and it is unknown what happened to Harry after Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992). Marv wore a hat and outfit, almost identical to Harry's. Also, Macaulay Culkin was replaced by Mike Weinberg for the role of Kevin McCallister. French Stewart took over Daniel Stern's role as Marv.
